The much delayed ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’ musical is set to open on December 21st.

U2’s world take-over duo Bono and the Edge penned the score for the musical, which was a year late in opening, reportedly due to financial and creative issues. Some sources say the musical will be one of the most costly in Broadway history; estimated at a ridiculous $50 million.

Serial stage-strutter Edge has said the music “touches on opera, it touches on rock & roll. There are some real character-driven songs as well, very unusual song types for us.” Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opens at Broadway’s Foxwoods Theatre, with some early preview performances starting November 14th.
