Under The Southern Stars have just delivered one of the biggest alt-rock lineups to date, with Live, Bush, & Stone Temple Pilots heading up the 2020 edition.

If you’ve found yourself searching for a lineup full of brilliant rock outfits, you rarely have to look further than the likes of Under The Southern Stars.

Having brought huge names like Hoodoo Gurus, You Am I, Jimmy Barnes, and more around the country, the touring fest has fostered a reputation as one of the biggest celebrations of Aussie rock around.

Now, 2020 is set to be one of the biggest on record, with three classic alt-rock bands leading the charge to celebrate some major milestones.

Kicking off the bill this year is none other than Live. Having released their landmark Throwing Copper album in 1994, the record soon went on to become one of the biggest selling albums of the decade in Australia, with tracks like ‘I Alone’ and ‘Lightning Crashes’ helping it become the 8th highest selling album in Australia in 95/96.

While Live disbanded in 2009, they reformed in 2012, and reunited with vocalist Ed Kowalczyk in 2017, touring the country a couple of times since, and blowing away audiences in the process.

It doesn’t end there though, with English alt-rock icons Bush joining the lineup, celebrating 25 years since the release of their debut record, Sixteen Stone. Boasting classics like ‘Everything Zen’, ‘Glycerine’, and ‘Comedown’, the record was a sleeper hit that propelled the band to massive worldwide fame.

Bush last visited Australia for the 2012 Soundwave festival, and have been rather busy since, releasing Man On The Run in 2014, and Black And White Rainbows in 2017.

With plenty of material under their belt, you can be sure that Gavin Rossdale and co. will keep you in safe hands while they take you on a rock history lesson throughout their set.

Last, but definitely not least, fans will get the chance to witness the iconic Stone Temple Pilots celebrating 25 years since the release of the classic Purple record.

Serving as legends of the ’90s scene, STP sold more than 50 million albums, undoubtedly setting them apart as one of the biggest bands of the decade. While they initially broke up in 2002, it wasn’t until after their 2008 reformation that the band finally made their way down to Australia, playing their only shows in the country to date in 2011.

While founding vocalist Scott Weiland is no longer with us, Aussie fans will get a chance to formally welcome the great Jeff Gutt into the Stone Temple Pilots family when they make their long-awaited return next year.

Amazingly, the lineup doesn’t end there, with none other than Aussie icons Rose Tattoo joining the bill, along with Melbourne’s legendary hard rockers, Electric Mary.

Making things even more special, the main headliners will also switch up their playing orders each night, giving fans a chance to witness a unique performance at every date. Concrete set times will be advised close to the show dates.

Plus, attendees will also be able to take advantage of The Under The Southern Stars Village, which features a host of fantastic installations and activities, including Carnival Rides, and Market Stalls selling everything from vintage clothes, music and lifestyle products to fantastic food vendors (varying from venue to venue).

To say that these shows are going to be some of the biggest and most ferocious ones you’ll see in 2020 is the very definition of an understatement, so be sure not to miss the chance to catch all of these classic rock outfits when the Under The Southern Stars comes your way next year.

Limited VIP tickets will be available for all shows (except Perth), when sales kick off on Monday, September 9th. Pre-sales kick off a few days earlier on Thursday, September 5th and run until Sunday, September 8th, giving you a few days to secure your ticket to this stunning lineup nice and early.
