A couple of days ago Unify The Gathering confirmed the first act on their 2019 lineup – Newcastle’s alt-rock trailblazers Trophy Eyes. In response, the emos of this office have conjugated together to bring you our speculations on who we think could headline the festival. Here are all our theories:

Attack! Attack!:

A couple of days ago we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the generation-defining anthem “Stick Stickly” and the birth of the beloved crabcore movement. It’s only just that such a cultural phenomenon be celebrated with a headlining slot at Australia’s largest heavy music gathering.

A Michael Crafter 10 year retrospective:

This year marks the ten-year-anniversary of Carpathian’s Isolation and next year will be the ten-year-anniversary of Confession’s Cancer. It’s also been ten years since Crafter was on Big Brother. That’s all I have to say about this.

From First To Last:

Yeah look, we know Skrillex is already coming to Australia this year, but we’re dreamers of the golden dream. All I want in this life of sin is to hear Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count in full.

Asking Alexandria:

2019 will be 10 years since Asking Alexandria’s career-defining debut record Stand Up and Scream. Danny Worsnop rejoined the band last year and they released a new album. We can’t help but imagine the pandemonium that would be a congregation of sunstroke afflicted heavy fans moshing their hearts out to ‘A Prophecy’.

The Used

It’ll be fifteen years since The Used released In Love And Death and they dropped their epic seventh studio album The Canyon last year. A career-spanning headline set doesn’t feel like too much of a reach.

Saosin

Saosin dropped their behemoth debut EP Translating the Name fifteen years ago. With Anthony Green rejoining the band back in 2016 we’re not ruling out an appearance from the smexy emo legends.
