You know one of those embarrassing moments when you just assumed a band had faded into oblivion only to find out they’ve just announced a new record?

Ok. Maybe that doesn’t happen that often. But that is kind of how we felt this morning when we received word that Sydney band Van She were due to drop their sophomore effort in July.

Idea Of Happiness is a follow up to the band’s debut V which was released a long 4 years ago and peaked at #10 on the ARIA Charts.

But it was released when the indie electro hype was at its highest, a genre that most people has move on from for some time now.

Idea Of Happiness was recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney before being shipped overseas to be mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer, who has a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83.

For your first taste of Idea Of Happiness, take a listen to the first cut and title track below to get a taste of things to come.

If you like what you hear why not be one of the first to hear the tracks live when the band tour their new material around the country in April.
