This past weekend, Prince’s music was finally made available on streaming services, a boost to backyard parties everywhere (despite cries of protest from format purists).

There’s even more good news for fans, with the tandem announcement that the first rush of unreleased Prince material will soon be made available.

Warner Bros. are remastering his classic Purple Rain album – which will no doubt be packaged with a ton of outtakes and the like – and will also release two albums worth of unreleased material from Prince’s famed vault. There will also be two new concert films released, although which era these will be plucked from remains to be seen.

A press release stated in part: “When we make any of Prince’s music available to fans – from the hits to unreleased gems – we are committed to upholding Prince’s high creative standards and we know fans will be thrilled when they hear these albums and see these films.”

All the aforementioned releases will be out on June 9.
