On this very day, Vera Blue 2.0 was born, as she shares the incredibly sleek and seductive video for ‘The Way That You Love Me’. “But that was released earlier this month!” I hear you say. Well, yes, you’re right, but today the explicit version of the video has come out, and damn is it hot.

The video was directed by Benn Jae, who has worked with loads of Aussie talents from Boy & Bear to The Veronicas and Jessica Mauboy. The clip, which features latex, whips, sleek black outfits, choreographed dancing, and near-naked men hanging suspended by rope from the ceiling, was filmed in Melbourne in a giant warehouse.

It’s quite exciting to see this darker side of Vera Blue, who is used to softer colours and gorgeous landscapes being featured in her film clips. This new song brings a whole new level of maturity and owned sexuality to the artist’s already impressive arsenal, and we’re just excited to see what comes next.

‘The Way That You Love Me’ features a pulsating electronic beat that drives the entire song, as Vera and her fit-bodied dancers communicate a feminist narrative through the art of dance. It really is something to behold.

Celia (Vera Blue) says, “When I was writing this song I had a vision of the video already, wanting a really strong, tough and dark video that incorporated lots of dancers. I grew up dancing so it was really nice to be able to express the feelings of this song with beautiful strong dancers and push my own boundaries a little. I loved working with so many different characters and personas in this video.”

Fresh from jumping on stage with Flume at Lollapalooza, Osheaga and 2x sold-out Red Rocks shows this week, Vera Blue will be touring with him as part of his worldwide tour which will include the U.S, UK, and Asia. Next month will see Vera Blue back in Australia to embark on her massive regional tour, which will also include the main cities of Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart.
