Brisbane indie-pop artist Clea is renowned for floating into our lives with something completely different but equally astonishing than her last effort.

With her new single and video for ‘Soft Blow To The Head’ Clea is as self-independent and creative as ever. The track itself is about overcoming a domineering relationship, and it’s told with the kind of kindness and foresight that Clea has become more than capable of.

“‘Soft Blow to the Head’ relives the moments in which you slip back into the enchanting toxicity of a domineering person, eventually gaining the courage and hindsight to move forward,” Clea explains. “It’s like a deep breath with a long sigh, it moves through emotion without rest and reveals that, in order to really appreciate your best life, you sometimes have to go through a bad experience.”

The stunning visual sees Clea team with her best friend Lily Cotter and Director of Photography Jack Birtles to co-direct and shoot the stunning 16mm film accompaniment. Both the single and video were created at a self-built studio in Queensland’s Scenic Rim.

2020 will also bring with it a sophomore album from Clea. The new LP will follow her debut album Vermillion in 2018, which featured her breakout moment ‘Dreaming’ – the track that went on to win Song of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards.
