Do you have a profound disdain for hipsters? Prepare for the ultimate visual orgasm that sees Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal star in a new music video for French electro band The Shoes as a serial killer with a taste for hipster blood.

The video for ‘Time To Dance’, which runs for eight minutes and sees Gyllenhaal slash through a number of victims, has been viewed by more than 400,000 people on Youtube since its debut yesterday and has been making the rounds on Facebook, Twitter and in people’s email inboxes.

“Jake Gyllenhaal and I had been talking about working together on something, and I got sent ‘Time To Dance’ by the Shoes, who are my favorite band, so I wanted to bring Jake in on that,” music video director Daniel Wolfe told Spinner. “I pitched the idea to him, and he liked it, which was great.”

“My brother and I had been chatting about doing a British take on the slasher genre for a while,” he added. “But as a music video, and instead of seeing it from the victim’s perspectives, we wanted to be with the killer, spend some downtime with him.”

The downtime Wolfe refers to sees Gyllenhaal’s serial killer character spend time at home, in the gym, having a sauna, partying, fencing, shaving, and several other activities in between his quest to rid the world of the hipster scourge.

Those who are a tad squeamish should probably not watch the video, but for those of you who are just hungry for some hipster blood enjoy the video in all its gory glory below.
