After this whole dragged-out Hall of Fame debacle, you’d be forgiven for not wanting to pay attention to anything involving Pearl Jam and ex-drummers, but this video may very well change that.
Pearl Jam’s fourth drummer Jack Irons joined Eddie Vedder on stage in Seattle to perform Pink Floyd’s ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ on March 17, and video from the performance has hit the net.
Irons drummed on Pearl Jam’s 1996 album No Code, and 1998’s Yield, before leaving, citing a heavy touring schedule as his reason.
Interestingly Irons was the founding drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers, and was actually asked to join Pearl Jam in 1990, instead passing his copy of their demo onto a young singer he knew, named Eddie Vedder.
