The Foo Fighters rick-rolled thousands of concertgoers on the weekend when they unleashed the opening bars to ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, only to pull the rug in the most exceptional fashion.
“Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome our new best friend, Rick Astley,” frontman Dave Grohl yelled to the audience at Japanese festival Summersonic.
“This is fucking crazy. I just met him two minutes ago”, Grohl added, before Astley completely lowered the tone, yelling “Come on you motherfuckers!
Clearly Astley comes from the pop realm, as such foul language would never usually go down at a rock concert. He swears elsewhere in the performance, telling the audience he feels “fucking fantastic.”
