M.I.A.’s new album ‘Matangi’ was produced by Surkin, Switch, Danja, Hitboy, Partysquad, Doc McKinney and M.I.A. herself and was recorded in New York, Los Angeles, London and others spots around the globe.
Named one of the ten defining artists of the 2000’s decade by Rolling Stone and one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine, British singer-songwriter M.I.A. has been nominated for an Academy Award and two Grammys (“Paper Planes” and “Swagga Like Us”). Her most recent album, 2010’s Maya, hit the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on the Dance/Electronic chart.
In 2012 M.I.A. released the song “Bad Girls” for which the video was nominated for both a Grammy and MTV Video Music Award. Earlier this year “Bring The Noize” was released to rave reviews and set the stage for M.I.A.’s performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival.
