Tuareg guitarist and singer Omara “Bombino” Moctar made his debut with the release of his ‘Nomad’ album early in 2013. In 2009, Bombino met filmmaker Ron Wyman, who had heard a cassette of Bombino’s music while traveling near Agadez, Niger.

After a year long search, Wyman discovered Bombino in Burkina Faso where he was in exile after two band members were killed in a rebellion. At the end of the war, Bombino returned to Agadez with Wyman and staged a concert to celebrate the newfound peace that established Bombino as a hero of the Tuareg people.

Touring Australia for the first time for Falls Festival and Sydney Festival, Bombino is sure to thrill audiences at an exclusive Melbourne sideshow at The Corner Hotel on January 12th.

Just announced as the support for Bombino is Forest of Eyes, the new brainchild of musician/producer/visual artist Ben Ely (Regurgitaor/Jump to Light Speed). Psychedelic Afro-Beat rhythms laced with Garage rock and punk energy make F.O.E a live show not to be missed. Teaming up with Bombino makes the Corner Hotel a sub-saharan hot house of tranced out desert rock grooves.
