Established in early 2013 and distributed by Caroline/Universal Music, Cooking Vinyl Australia sign both local and international artists in addition to representing the wider Cooking Vinyl Records roster in Australia and New Zealand.

The indie label represent acts like High Tension, Gallows and the Sword and are giving a lucky Tone Deaf reader copies of all three bands latest releases on vinyl!

Between their high energy blistering live shows and their badass music video talents it’s hard not to love High Tension. The band dropped their latest album, Bully, in July (via Double Cross Records) which was recorded in Adelaide with James Balderston and features guest spots from Matt Young (King Parrot) and grunge heroine Adalita.

Desolation Sounds represents a new chapter in Gallows career as they celebrate their tenth anniversary. Produced by Steve Sears at Titan Studios, it’s a body of work which builds upon the aggression and passion of the band’s acclaimed catalogue while opening up new horizons for the quartet. It is, says Gallows founding member Laurent ‘Lags’ Barnard, “the record I’ve dreamt about making.”

The Sword’s impact continues to expand and their latest release High Country is the band’s biggest, boldest, and brightest frontier. The album was recorded at Church House Recording Studio in Austin, TX with Adrian Quesada of Brownout and Grupo Fantasma producing, Stuart Sykes (The White Stripes) engineering, and J. Robbins mixing so you’re going to want to wrap your ears around this bad boy.
