After releasing two critically-acclaimed EPs, Auckland four-piece Artisan Guns, take their brand new single ‘Pulled You In’ to Australian radio this week. The track hails from their debut album CORAL, which is released through their own label, Raccoon Jacket and recently debuted at No. 1 on the New Zealand Indie Charts.
The band started work on CORAL in February last year and proceeded to write, rehearse and demo songs throughout 2011, while also playing as many shows as possible in order to develop their songs and maintain their tight-knit sound.
Artisan Guns have come a long way since their beginnings as school friends in 2006. CORAL is very personal but also knowingly speaks of the tumultuous emotional experience everyone goes through as a teenager. It shows that Artisan Guns are a band whose song writing abilities have reached a new level of power and who are now creating work that is timeless and moving.
