Philadelphia Grand Jury have hand-picked local support acts for their ‘Returns In November’ show dates which is set to take in the East Coast this month.

In Melbourne at Ding Dong this Saturday 8 November, I, A Man and Sunbeam Sound Machine will support, and in Sydney at Beach Road Hotel on Wednesday 12 November, The Ruminators will open the stage. At the Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle on Thursday 13 November, the Philly Jays will share the stage with The Theaves and Huskarl, and in Brisbane at Alhambra Lounge on Friday 14 November, Rolls Bayce and The Worriers will support.

It started last year when Simon Berkfinger, Dan W Sweat and MC Bad Genius kissed and made up.

As an integral part of rebuilding their often complicated relationships, they decided to tour around the country to celebrate the release of Berkfinger’s debut solo album under the moniker Feelings (as well as to celebrate Dan W Sweat finally graduating). It was hot, it was sweaty, it was loud, it was chaotic, it was … right. Philadelphia Grand Jury were back!

And now Philadelphia Grand Jury are back…. again. But this time, they’re not just touring around for the hell of it. This time, they’re touring around to raise the funds necessary to record a follow-up album to 2009’s Hope Is For Hopers, tentatively titled Ulterior Motif.

Literally days after the final show of this distressingly short tour, the three on-again, off-again, on-again friends will be packing as many instruments as they can fit into their luggage and flying to Berkfinger’s Golden Retriever Studios in Berlin to record.

So if you’ve been craving a new hit single to follow on from “The Good News” or a new anti-party party anthem to take the torch from “I Don’t Want to Party (Party)”, then now is the time to put your money where your mouth is. Well, actually, just put your money in the Philly Jay’s pockets, please. It will go to very good use.

Philadelphia Grand Jury will play in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane this month. Tickets on sale now.

To celebrate their upcoming shows, Tone Deaf are giving readers the chance to win a double pass to see the band at Ding Dong Lounge on Saturday November 8th, enter your details below for a chance to win!
