Captivating, electrifying, “way too dirty for soap” and more than a little dangerous—Drunken Moon is pure live spectacle.
The festival came about when James Grim, frontman for Melbourne sex-voodoo-Delta blues-a-billy band Brothers Grim & the Blue Murders’, set out to, quite simply, carefully curate the finest collection of live bands he’s seen in the past year into one massive east coast splurge of shows. Acts selected are ones that draw inspiration from varied ol’ time musical roots, fused with a modern twist and representing the burgeoning hybridised Australian blues community to boot.
Pulling into Melbourne, Brisbane, Wollongong, Sydney and Woombye this Spring, the first annual national Drunken Moon Festival will pull out all the stops across each and every town they roll into. Each show is a slightly different line up.
Headliners Brothers Grim & the Blue Murders, along with Six Ft Hick, Jackson Firebird, Midnight Woolf, Kira Puru & the Bruise, Mother and Son, Frank Sultana & the Sinister Kids, Little Bastards, Gruntbucket, Papa Pilko & the Binrats, Gay Paris, Howlin’ Steam Train and The Ramshackle Army will soon be rollicking through a town near you. Don’t miss the chance to be part of a very boisterous celebration.
