Orange County Sherrif’s Office in Florida has shared heartwarming footage of a good samaritan who consoled a man sitting on the ledge of a highway overpass earlier this year with lyrics from a Linkin Park song.
Healthcare worker Cristina Settani was driving down State Road 408 when she saw a troubled looking man sitting on the edge of an overpass. Compassion kicked in and she decided to stop the car, climb over the barrier and sit with the man.
“I stopped because I’ve been where he was,” Settani explained in the video. “So, I know what it’s like to stand on the ledge and think that’s your only option. He needed somebody to show that somebody cared enough to stop, and tell him he didn’t need to do that today.”
“There was a moment he moved forward, and I did kind of move towards him, like, ‘Nope, you go, I go.’”
In an attempt to comfort the man, Settani shared a lyric from Linkin Park track ‘One More Night’ — “Who cares if one more light goes out?/ In a sky of a million stars / Well I do.”

Settanni explained that the lyrics struck a chord with the man, “I don’t know if it just clicked with him, but he just cried.”
Police eventually arrived at the scene after several concerned 911 calls where made. Bodycam footage from the officer on site has shown the pair sitting together on the edge of the overpass. The man was taken to a nearby mental health facility.
‘One More Night’ is the title track off Linkin Park’s final studio record. The album was released two months before the tragic passing of frontman Chester Bennington.
