What mythological mysterious sea creatures suck at, though, is throwing wild parties. Being mysterious and mythological? Sure, they’re great at that. But three-day parties over Halloween? Not so much. So, considering the Triangle’s reputation, what better location for one of the world’s most unique music festivals than one of the Triangle’s islands? You can get loose AND spooked. On a damn tropical island.
Yup. The Bacardi Triangle is taking place on Palomino, an island that lies just off the coast of Puerto Rico in the actual freakin’ Bermuda Triangle.
And with the fantastical tales told of that general triangular vicinity no doubt lurking in their minds, 1,862 exceptionally fortunate guests (the number reflecting the year Bacardi was founded) will be flown on charters jets from NYC, LA and London to party on Palomino and at the Waldorf Astoria’s neighbouring five star ‘El Conquistador’ resort. Spiffy, right?
As for the artists joining them, it’s a lineup that’s as impressive as the surrounds. Headlining Bacardi Triangle are three big names: Scottish man-about-the-world (and the world’s highest paid DJ) Calvin Harris, winsome UK popstrelle Ellie Goulding and probably the most important voice in contemporary hip-hop, Kendrick Lamar.
Damn.
Can you imagine hearing parts of Good Kid M.A.A.D City on a tropical island? That’s nuts.
