Earlier this morning we reported on the outrageous behaviour of two X Factor New Zealand judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon on contestant Joe Irvine, the pair berating him for apparently “copying” Moon’s fashion style hurling horrible abuse at him as they labelled him “disgusting” and that he looked like he’d “kill everybody in the audience.”

Naturally, such appalling comments were met with a massive amount of public uproar, with over one hundred thousand people signing online petitions calling for the husband/wife duo to be fired from the TV3 program, which believe it not, has seen action, as stuff.co.nz reports.

This afternoon, in a statement to TV3 from MediaWorks chief executive Mark Weldon announcing that both Kills and Moon were removed from X Factor.

The statement reads, “Last night on X Factor both Kills and Moon made comments that were completely unacceptable. While the judges on X Factor are expected to provide critiques of the performances, we will not tolerate such destructive tirades from any of the judges.

“Contestants put their all into this competition and they should expect to receive feedback and criticism that is professional and constructive. We no longer have confidence that Kills and Moon are the right people to perform the role of X Factor judges and they will leave the show, effective immediately” he rightfully closed.

The action taken has been supported FremantleMedia Australia who own the Australasia X Factor brand with director of programming Jonathon Summerhayes saying, “We are appalled at the very poor judgement and intention shown by Natalia Kills and Willy Moon, we 100 per cent support TV3 and MediaWorks in their decision to remove them.”

Neither Kills or Moon have made a comment since their dismissal, however after the episode aired Kills posting the following to her Twitter account with a plug of her own music:
