A tape has emerged of late-rapper XXXTentacion confessing to the domestic abuse of a former girlfriend. Before he was murdered back in June, the controversial Florida rapper was awaiting trial for a domestic abuse case dating back to 2016. The Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office charged XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) with aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness tampering, as Pitchfork reports. The victim in question was a former girlfriend.

Pitchfork has since obtained a “secretly recorded tape” of Onfrey talking to unnamed acquaintances around the time of his arrest on October 8, 2016.

The 27-minute tape, which was reportedly acquired through the Miami-Dade County office. Features XXXTentacion discussing his ex-girlfriend with unnamed acquaintances.

In the tape, Onfrey divulges that he believes his ex-girlfriend had cheated on him. Whilst Onfrey didn’t detail any specifics to the abuse he did say “I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right? But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started fucking her up bruh. I started fucking her up because she made one mistake. And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.”

As well as the threats made against his former girlfriend, Onfrey has detailed a stabbing incident that took place in Florida as well as an incident where he stabbed a former manager. Listen to an excerpt of the tape recording below.
