The latest instalment of Guitar Hero is shaping up to be something pretty impressive. With a whole host of incredible new features that basically turn the whole game into a first-person rockstar simulator, its chances of finding its way into our living rooms has just been given an even bigger boost.

As Loudwire reports, a raft of new songs have just been added to the new Guitar Hero’s rapidly expanding playlist and it includes the first batch of Aussies. Guitar Hero Live will feature ‘A Heartbreak’ from homegrown folk duo Angus & Julia Stone and ‘Sundial’ by Sydney rockers Wolfmother.

Other new additions include classics from Queen and Weezer, a more recent cut from grunge legends Alice In Chains, as well as tunes by Bullet For My Valentine, Deap Vally, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Neon Trees, and New Politics, joining a playlist that already features Deftones, Royal Blood, and even Skrillex.

As Tone Deaf previously reported, among the most notable changes in the new Guitar Hero are the omission of the series’ famous graphic avatars and crowds. Instead, Guitar Hero Live presents a first-person perspective where you play alongside real, live-action band members and real crowds.

Activision are reportedly aiming for a US fall release date on Xbox One and 360, Playstation 3 and 4, Nintendo Wii U, and even mobile devices, with a price of US$99. The news came a month after game-makers Harmonix announced a new Rock Band game was in the works.
