2015 is packing its bags and getting ready to jet, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have time for another triple j Like A Version. Today’s cover was performed by mysterious German producer Claptone, who got some help from talented Melbourne duo Slum Sociable.
Together, the trio took on The Rapture’s 2011 cut ‘How Deep Is Your Love?’, giving the dance-punk favourite a bass-heavy, dance floor-ready edge. As you’ll see above, it’s hard to sit still during what is quite possibly one of the weirdest Like A Version performances of 2015.
As we’ve previously mentioned, 2015 could go down as one of the best years for Like A Version ever. Unsurprisingly, some of the best have come from homegrown bands and artists like Dorsal Fins, with their cover of Kate Ceberano’s ‘Pash’ and Art Vs Science’s recent rework of the Metallica classic ‘Enter Sandman’.
We’ve also seen some covers bound for this year’s Hottest 100, an alt-rock mash-up that blew us away, some ambitious takes on mega-tunes by the likes of FKA twigs, Jamie xx, and Fatboy Slim, as well as a raw take on a homegrown anthem.
