Young Men Dead have been crafting delectable slices of electro-psychedelic perfection since an acclaimed inception in late-2010. Their infectious combination of tribal drumming, shimmering synths and narrative-inspired vocals has now culminated in their forthcoming debut EP, with first single ‘Courageous’ emerging as an undeniable first taste.
After gaining early attention as a ‘Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist’, Young Men Dead made their live debut supporting Australian electronic-heavyweight Muscles in their hometown of Brisbane. Since then, the band have gained a loyal following as an act with charisma, cheek, and clear talent, playing numerous sold-out gigs and notable performances alongside artists including The Holidays, Kate Nash, Yuksek, Goldfields and Jinja Safari.
Described by critics as “tight, catchy, glitchy goodness,” and “impressionistic avant-pop greatness”, Young Men Dead’s distinguished sound has now arrived at ‘Courageous’ – their strongest musical statement yet. A perfectly crafted showcase of the band’s hook-laden songwriting abilities and thunderous rhythmic motives, the single is the first sample of their debut EP due out later this year.
Armed with an accomplished new set of tracks, and anticipated performances booked for September and October at Brisbane’s Valley Fiesta, a main support slot with English group Mystery Jets, and a coveted showcase at BigSound Live 2012 – Young Men Dead are looking forward to an exciting and successful year ahead.
