The organisers of Wollongong’s Yours & Owls Festival have turned their attention to supporting local artists amid the coronavirus pandemic, announcing a home delivery grog service.

How will that benefit bands, you may ask? Well, 50% of all profits raised from the alcohol deliveries will be going directly to a different band, rotating every two weeks.

They’re calling the service Owl Capones, and for the first fortnight, they’re supporting Wollongong outfit TOTTY.

You can order pretty much whatever, with a large range covering everything from sparkling wines, reds and whites, beer and spirits.

“Stuck at home? Getting bored? No worries. Meet Owl Capone’s, the newest project from the Yours & Owls crew that will get you sorted with everything you need to stay home and keep the party alive! Music and booze!” reads a statement on their website.

“Knowing that a cheeky beverage is best paired with your favourite band we have decided to team up with a different local artist every fortnight to help bring the good times to you whilst continuing to support the creative community at the same time.”

There’s also another boost for buyers, with all orders over $150 coming with a free featured item of artist merchandise.

The only bummer is that the Yours & Owls crew are only delivering within the Illawarra region of NSW, but if you’re unsure of whether your postcode falls within the zone, head here to double-check.

Yours & Owls are on the hunt for bands who are working on cool stuff from the Wollongong and Ilawarra region, so if that sounds like you, tag the crew @owl.capones on Facebook or Instagram.

“So you can keep supporting the creative community gig or no gig,” say the crew. “Take care, play music and stay social (in isolation).”

Get to putting in that order here, all purchases before 4pm are delivered same day.
