Some readers will remember that last week we ran a story involving Jimmy Fallon and local Melbourne rapper Bangs. The talk show host had apparently become quite taken with the rapper’s immortal tune ‘Take U To Da Movies’ and decided to feature it during one of the segments on a recent Tonight Show episode.

Fallon has a regular segment on his show called ‘Do Not Play’, where the comedian takes the listeners through real songs — “You can download them on iTunes or Amazon or see if your local record store has them” — which you simply shouldn’t play, usually because they’re awkward or just plain awful.

When Fallon played Bangs’ infamous track, it triggered roars of glee from both the host and the crowd, as well as members of Fallon’s house band, legendary hip-hop outfit The Roots. Frontman Black Thought can be seen in footage unable to contain his laughter (see below).

Bangs himself seemingly took the whole thing in stride with a solid dose of good humour. He even took to Facebook to shake the whole thing off, T Swift-style, telling his fans, “I know Jimmy Fallon making fun of me, but hey I got the attention tho [sic].”

However, it now appears he’s not so chill about the whole becoming an international laughing stock thing. Apparently stowing away in the lab over the weekend, Ur Boy Bangs has emerged with a dis track aimed at Jimmy Fallon, in which he even taunts the host about his injured finger.

Do not watch Jimmy Fallon’s show, he’s got nothing to talk about because he’s horrible“, Bangs sings on the track, which is effectively a reworked version of ‘Take U To Da Movies’. However, the lyrics about ladies who like to go to da movies have been replaced with searing venom.
