Only a month out from their debut LP Hills End, Sydney trio DMA’s have dropped ‘Too Soon’ a taste of what to expect from the anticipated local release.

A follow on from ‘Lay Down’ which was released late last year, ‘Too Soon’ is so ’90s it’s hard to believe the track is coming out in 2016. Guitarists Matt Mason and Johnny Took channel the driving nasal guitar tones of late Nirvana, while vocalist Tommy O’Dell’s trademark Britpop tinged vocal soar louder than we’ve heard before.

The mishmash of influences on this specific track comes directly from the band’s jamming process. “Usually one of us will have an idea for a song, and we’ll flesh it out together”, says Johnny Took “but for ‘Too Soon’ we each had a separate melody, which fit together effortlessly.”

DMA’s spent the best part of 2015 touring throughout Australia and internationally; selling out shows and packing venues on headline shows as well as playing at some of the world’s biggest festivals including Lollapalooza, Groovin The Moo, Bonnaroo, Reading & Leeds, Outside Lands and Governor’s Ball.

Ahead of their upcoming record release the guys will be road testing their wares on the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival circuit next month in Australia before heading the UK for a headline tour throughout March and then playing Coachella 2016 this April in Indio, California.

Hills End is out on the 26th February via I Oh You, more info and pre-orders here.
