UPDATE: The Splendour In The Grass 2016 lineup has finally arrived – get it right here!

With the latest summer festival season receding into that place where we keep only our fondest memories, all eyes have turned to just one event: Splendour In The Grass.

The lineup is still a good few sleeps away, but that doesn’t mean the rumour mill hasn’t been churning steadily and even going into full-blown overdrive occasionally.

It most recently short-fused when The 1975 frontman Matt Healy basically leaked the Manchester group’s place on this year’s lineup during an Australian interview.

Before that, all we really had to go on was the Fuji Rock Lineup, which often shares a few acts with Splendour as they both take place around the same time.

But yesterday something interesting was happening on social media. For whatever reason, The Living End, Hilltop Hoods, and Dan Sultan all posted TBTs, or Throwback Thursdays.

Nothing bizarre about that (after all, yesterday was Thursday), but what makes it curious is the fact that all three acts posted throwbacks to performances at Splendour.

Adding fuel to the rumour fire is the fact that Hilltop Hoods just released a new album and The Living End conspicuously dropped their first single in ages today.

Meanwhile, Dan Sultan’s throwback was to the moment he appeared on stage with the Hilltop Hoods boys back in 2014. Just a coincidence? Can’t be, right?
