With all the lineup leaks (we’re looking at you Laneway,) and killer announcements (take a bow Aunty Meredith, Beyond The Valley) flowing in, you can bet we’ve officially entered the dawn of the Aussie summer festival season.
Further dispelling the cold shoulder of winter is a raft of festival news – boutique and major alike – throughout July that gave live music livers a veritable smorgasbord of options this year. And yep, you guessed it – now there’s a few more.
This week has brought another six fresh festival specimens to the fore. Make sure that you secure your tickets so you can attend what will no doubt be some of the best live music experiences this country has to offer.

A Festival Called Panama Returns
In March 2014 a new music festival took place in a secluded valley in northeast Tasmania. Set among the workings of a small-batch cider brewery and surrounded by its namesake, the stunning Panama Forest, A Festival Called PANAMA was born.
A select group of intrepid and fortunate ticket holders witnessed two days and nights of garage, soul, folk and psych bands as well pop-up cabarets, candle lit bars and late night vinyl soul clubs. The weekend that transpired was unforgettable – a perfect mix of vibrant and exciting programming, warm and thoughtful crowds and a breathtaking site.
With the dust settled the organisers are pleased to announce that March 2015 will see the event returning with another outstanding program of national and international acts set to head into the hills of Tasmania to perform for a lucky few.
Once again tickets will be limited to 1000 – with punters enjoying wood-fired hot showers, cider brewed on site, delicious local foods stalls, and breathtaking cabaret. All this in addition to a main stage program whose stature belies the tiny scale of the event.
Tickets on sale December 1st (Early bird tickets available to last year’s attendants)

After an extremely successful debut on September 21 at South Stradbroke Island, Stranded returns for Round 2 of the island party vibes on the G20 public holiday!
Stranded will be allowing punters to escape the political madness in Brisbane by setting sail to McLaren’s Landing in South Straddy again for a day of beach and beats, courtesy of good times aggregators The Fans Group and the brains behind Can’t Say in Melbourne The Witching Hour Order, proudly presented by inthemix.
Kicking off the lineup proceedings is the announcement of just a few acts on the bill including musical wunderkind The Kite String Tangle, as well as party starters KLP (live), UV boi, Generik, 95 royale, Gurps, Lyndon Kidd, Elleyet, Tucker and Finger Ring. Wonderland 2014 Lineup, Dates, & Venue Announced
Originating in 2011, Wonderland draws thematic inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s much-loved classic Alice in Wonderland.
The festival has traversed the most dreamy and disparate of territories for previous chapters of the event: from the garden grounds of a heritage art gallery, to an open-air performance space in the Perth Hills surrounded by forest, to the rooftop of an abandoned department store by the seaside.
After these three epic adventures thus far, Wonderland will dip into the treasured party tale once more, turning the page to the fourth chapter this December 20, 2014. Over 5,000 WA patrons joined in on the fun at 2013 Wonderland, and organisers look forward to welcoming back many of their loyal Wonderland party family, along with a host of new faces, for an evening of exceptional sounds and sights, and fabulous fun.
Wonderland fans past and present will be sporting ear-to-ear grins wider than that of the Cheshire Cat when they hear about the 2014 Wonderland lineup. In the curation of their line ups, always, Wonderland seek to push forward young Australian music artists that are currently enjoying huge success, after years of hard work and dedication to their craft.
This year, they’re showcasing talent that runs coast to coast: spanning electronic, indie and hip hop; with a group of artists sure to having you begging for more.

Get Onboard The Inaugural Gingerfest As Lineup Explodes
The hardworking organisers of December’s inaugural Gingerfest fundraising mini-festival are simply stoked to unveil the second batch of acts on their bumper punk rock line-up. With tickets already selling fast for this most important and tantalising of events, these additions will surely spell a full house.
Gingerfest is an exceptional and highly anticipated all day event conceptualised in memory of Canberra man Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber, who was tragically murdered in late 2013.
Known widely and affectionately as ‘The Ginger Ninja’, Nicholas was a long-time and much loved stalwart of the Canberra punk rock community. A cooperative of Sofer-Schreiber’s friends from all corners of the punk rock community have banded together to raise vital funds for Vision Australia in his name, through Gingerfest.
