The day has arrived! The history-making live concert that Led Zeppelin put on in London in 2007 has been released on CD and DVD as Celebration Day.
Audience members were all winners of a lottery and were comprised of various citizens from around the world who travelled far and wide for this reunion.
The DVD shows a short clip from decades ago of the press discussing the band. It immediately ceases with strong white light filling the stage as theelegantly dressed Led Zeppelin enter to play ‘Good Times, Bad Times’.
Despite the wrinkles and many birthdays these men have experienced, they put on a performance as if they were in their 20s.
The stage was very simply set up as anything more would be unnecessary.
The lucky crowd were frozen with amazement as they watched this legendary band bounce through their 16 song set which summarised their 10 album discography, a feat that Robert Plant himself admitted was challenging.
Jason, son of the late John Bonham did an incredible job filling in on drums as the humble Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones demonstrated their ability to keep on rocking.
Tracks like ‘Black Dog’ and ‘Dazed & Confused’ had the crowd going absolutely wild while during ‘Stairway To Heaven’ there were shots of the crying audience members who were simply bewildered by the iconic band’s talents.
Interviews with the band suggest very little chance of any shows in the future so best to enjoy every moment of this flawless DVD performance as well as the audio of the show on CD.
