HTRK have announced that they’ll be playing their only Melbourne headline show for 2013 at Howler, Brunswick’s newest live music venue, this Friday 2nd August.
Based in London and on their way to becoming one of Australia’s most important “underground” bands, HTRK’s album Work (work, work) was one of 2011’s most acclaimed Australian releases. Their forthcoming album (due for release in 2014 via Mistletone), is the band’s first album in four years and their first as a duo. With this Melbourne show, HTRK will be giving the audience an exclusive preview of new material from their forthcoming album.
HTRK have toured with Liars, Shellac and Yeah Yeah Yeahs and have worked with greats such as Rowland S Howard, Suicide, Lydia Lunch to name a few and have featured on such recent Australian festival lineups as Sugar Mountain, ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror curated by The Drones, Outside In (Sydney), MONA FOMA (Hobart) and This Is Nowhere (Perth).
Joining HTRK on the bill are a host of emerging Melbourne bands, including Lowtide, Chet Faker buddies Rat & Co, and New War DJs spinning tracks between sets.
This will be HTRK’s ONLY Melbourne headline performance for 2013, playing exclusively at Howler, Brusnwick’s newest live music venue, featuring Asian style hawker food, a stylish bar, and 300 capacity band room all under the roof of a fully refurbished warehouse.
