As Tone Deaf predicted when reading our tea leaves after the tour was announced, Metallica have announced extra shows. We even got the number right, as they’re now playing two shows each in Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide, and three each in Melbourne and Sydney as unprecedented demand by blokes who gained high school qualifications in drawing the Metallica logo on their school bags snapped up the credit card pre-sale allocation. There will be a two week break for them to return to San Francisco for a rest mid tour – they are after all hitting their 50s. Supposedly these are the final shows to be announced, but providing their creaking old bones can be bothered squirreling away some more cash for retirement, they could feasibly slot in another show in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
