Seriously, when it comes to having one of the most exciting music cultures in the country our brothers and sisters in the west do it best, and this year’s Kiss My WAMi compilation is no exception.
Each year Kiss My WAMi compiles a selection of tracks released by West Australian artists from the previous twelve months, distributed to radio, media and music lovers nationally to highlight some of the incredible array of talent from some of the most isolated regions in the world.
From the garage psych of Methyl Ethel, to the weird electro pop of KUČKA and the incredibly sophisticated sonic depth of producer Lower Spectrum, the 2014 edition of Kiss My WAMi’s diversity sees it covering everything from metal to hardcore, indigenous, electronic, experimental, country, folk, dance, rock, pop and more.
The two-disc set is filled with WA’s finest tunes from the last year, and is free to WAM Members and WA Music Conference ticket holders and delegates, plus is distributed to the music industry and radio stations both at home and internationally.
You can check out the compilation ahead of WAM Festival (a celebration of West Australian music and culture) which kicks off this Thursday the 6th and runs until Saturday the 8th of November, for more info visit wam.org.au.
