Just this week US super-popstress Ariana Grande released a music video for her hit ‘One Last Time’ which has of course, already been viewed over one million times on YouTube, and one group of viewers, an Aussie band at that, are pretty pissed-off, making claim that Grande’s team has ripped off their existing film clip.
Indie rock outfit SAFIA have taken to their Facebook challenging Grande, alleging that her “end of the world” themed vid is a blatant copy of their ‘You Are The One’, a video that they released over four months ago.
The three-piece make a strong case, both music clips centre around a female protagonist who runs through a city of chaos, the world around her coming to an end, building to the exact same climactic closer that sees a couple have their final embrace as the purple-pink skyline falls to the ground behind them.
SAFIA are steaming, calling-out Grande’s team for “stealing” their concept, “Wouldn’t be the first time uncreative talentless fucks from big labels and/or big film firms steal ideas from small independent creatives who are trying really hard to make something different for a change…”
