Though Aussie audiences have been behind her for some time now, Courtney Barnett international rise to superstardom is imminent, especially given the latest career-changing opportunity that has just been bestowed upon her.
The queen of slack rock has been announced to perform on none other than the Ellen Show, which is kinda a big day considering it’s casually viewed by y’know, roughly about 3.9 million people in the US alone each day, Triple J points out.

Like this news wasn’t big enough, Barnett will actually be singin’ her tunes on the same episode that the First Lady Michelle Obama will also be appearing on, which means additional thousands, hell potentially hundreds of thousands will more than likely see our favourite muso perform – an exposure opportunity that dreams are made of.
The episode is set to take place next Monday 16 March, just a couple of days before the songstress’ debut record Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit at long-last drops (20 March), the album that features the racin’ and rockin’ ‘Pedestrian At Best‘ and the chilling, sombre tune that the poor folk of the US (hilariously) misinterpreted, ‘Depreston’.

Barnett has gone from strength to strength, the left-handed shredder having toured the globe endlessly in 2014, leaving in her wake a growing sea of obsessive fans, and just last weekend she absolutely smashed apart the supernatural amphitheatre at Golden Plains in her headlining slot.
We’re stoked for Court, and by the way this year is already panning out – 2015 looks to be the year the Tassie-turned-Melbourne artist well and truly cements her name as household.
