You know, readers, sometimes even we at Tone Deaf are a little saddened by the state of the world. Oh sure, we get to write about awesome music all day long, but even we have our days where we just lose hope.
Between war in the Middle East and Reclaim Australia here at home, we do get a little despondent sometimes. But then, just when we think there’s no hope of unity in this world, something like this enters our inbox.
As ABC News reports, one thousand die-hard Foo Fighters fans recently united to play the band’s classic tune ‘Learn To Fly’ as part of an attempt to convince the band to come and play in the Italian town of Cesena.
People of different races, genders, ages, creeds, and religious beliefs all banded together and collaborated en masse for one common goal and the result is actually pretty spectacular. Somehow, everyone manages to stay in time.
The Rockin’ 1000 project was conceived by Fabio Zaffagnini back in 2014. “Italy is a country where dreams cannot easily come true but it’s a land of passion and creativity, so what we did here is just a huge, huge miracle,” he says in the clip.
“One-thousand rockers that came from all over the nation at their own expenses and they just did for one song: Your song.” Check out the incredible video below. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have something in our eye.
