This month has been a pretty exciting one for Philadelphia Grand Jury fans, so far September has seen the trio drop a new (unexpected) single, which was quickly followed by the announcement that yes there will be a long awaited second album on its way. Titled Summer Of Doom and set for release October 2nd, it marks the band’s first new recorded output since their 2009 debut album Hope Is For Hopers.
The trio now today have also dropped the news that they’ll be touring this October in support of the upcoming record release.
Bringing special guests High-Tails along for the ride, the original Philly Jays line up consisting of of Joel Beeson (MC Bad Genius), Simon Berckelman (Berkfinger), and Dan Williams (Dan W Sweat) will kick off the tour in Brisbane and will trek through the country visiting Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart then finally wrapping things up early November in Perth.
Over the course of 10 days of writing and recording, the band’s new album, Summer of Doom, was born. Most of the tracks were recorded live within 30 minutes of being written and the album is devoid of any editing or computer trickery. Check out the lead single and upcoming tour dates below.
