Melbourne blistering rock n roll trio Tequila Mockingbyrd are today unveiling the clip to their hard rockin’ three and a half minute onslaught of a new single ‘I Smell Rock N Roll’

The powerful clip for ‘I Smell Rock N Roll’ was recorded using an iPhone and a Go-Pro in the Middle Eastern desert September 2015 during Tequila Mockingbyrd’s Troops Entertainment tour.

The band tell the story of visiting the troops “In Sept-Oct 2015 we had the priviledge of spending some time in various locations across the MIddle East entertaining the US, UK and Australian troops stationed there. It was an experience of a lifetime and an absolute honour to bring a little piece of ‘home’ to the guys and girls of the defence forces.

“The stories we heard along the way were incredible, a truly humbling experience. It’s not every day you get to eat lunch with a fighter pilot or meet a real life rocket queen! It was quite surreal seeing a crowd of sober soldiers who have spent all day working in the heat, rock out and let their hair down during our set.

“It has always been our dream to film a video clip in the desert and this made it way less cliche and more legit badass! After befriending a colonel we were able to smuggle ourselves, the army music room equipment, a go-pro and a couple of iPhones down to the explosives testing range and endured the 50 degree midday heat to film this clip.

“We wanted to incorporate some of the soldiers into the clip as we were given the chance to experience a taste of their life in the forces, and wanted them to have the chance to be rockstars for the day. (We’re still working on being rockstars ourselves….) Our sincere thanks to the Australian defence force and RSL for making the filming of this clip possible.”
