‘Magnetic Love’ is the first single from Quester, the new solo project from Gold Coast artist Elliot Weston (of The Oceanics).
The single comes fully-formed as a lazy, synth-infused indie pop gem, the upwards inflection of its harmonised refrain drilling itself into your skull to nestle snugly between your ears.
A constantly-shifting video clip directed by Genki Yamasaki (The Brains) completes the tidy package, moving through reversed footage, painted montage and black-light scenery all in the course of four minutes.
It’s all a very crisp start for the project, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for an EP from Quester later on in the year.
