Empire of the Sun’s new album, Two Vines, is more than just the Australian duo’s latest space opera, it’s also a star-studded affair, packing a number of big-name collaborations, including none other than Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham.
“When you’ve got the undeniable, magical aura of Doctor Buckingham, things blossom,” Luke Steele recently told NPR. “We jammed like we were in high school and it came together almost instantly.” The result of that jam? The gorgeous ‘To Her Door’.
According to Steele, he and bandmate Nick Littlemore had a hard time not fanboy-ing out during the recording session. “You’re not just working with a great guitarist or producer, you’re working with classic heritage,” he said.
“He’s not just a genius, but a genius of feeling. It’s his gift. And I’m so grateful we got to share in it.” You can check out ‘To Her Door’ below. The band’s follow-up to 2013’s Ice on the Dune is out 28th October.
