Radiohead have admitted that they’re considering throwing out the work they’ve done on their new album and that they might “head back to the drawing board”. As they get set to go back in to the studio today (27th September), drummer Phil Selway has said that they’ll be taking stock this week of their work to date before deciding whether to bin it or not.
Speaking to The Canadian Press, Selway said “We’ve been working on material on and off for a year now and we’ve had the summer off so yes, we’re basically taking stock on Monday and seeing what we need to do with the material to move it to those final stages.”We’re just returning to it with fresh ears and taking stock of where we are and how close we are to finishing stuff, really, and we won’t know till Monday.”
The release will be the first since 2007’s In Ranbows, which sent a tsunami through the music world when the band released it digitally with a ‘pay what you like’ price.
