After a massive set at Splendour In The Grass last weekend and two huge sideshows, Miguel found time to drop by Triple J’s studios recently to take part in Like A Version. The R&B icon took on a classic from the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Californication album, and the result was beautiful.

The singer covered the slow-burning track “Porcelain“, and his voice takes the song to new levels of amazingness. Miguel also performed “Pineapple Skies” off his recent album War & Leisure. Last week, Chvrches were in the studio for their second Like A Version, taking on fellow Splendour performer Kendrick Lamar’s “LOVE.”

The performer’s rendition of “Porcelain” stays true to the original, but Miguel’s live vocals definitely give Anthony Kiedis a run for his money.  His most recent album War & Leisure in December last year, and is planning on releasing a latin album in the near future.

The singer’s whirlwind tour of Australia saw him perform to massive crowds at Splendour, as well as in Sydney and Melbourne. Judging from the two Like A Version offerings, it sounds like the shows would’ve been incredible.
