Anderson .Paak has proven himself to be quite the prankster, tricking comedian Dave Chappelle with a nude music video ruse.
Anderson .Paak has had quite a year, with plenty of amazing tunes doing the rounds, a spot on next year’s Falls Festival lineup, and a new album – Oxnard – out this Friday. However, he’s also scored himself a new show on Beats 1, which he’s used to prank a comedy legend.
Appearing on the third episode of .Paak House Radio (via Pitchfork), Anderson .Paak called up Dave Chappelle with an idea for a star-studded music video in New York City – with a huge catch.
“It’s all the icons,” .Paak explained to Dave. “Like Q-Tip, me, we in Harlem, we doin’ it all together, but we standing together naked. Just butt-ass naked, no clothes, on some real shit.”
Upon hearing this idea, Dave Chappelle responded with a bit of hesitation. “.Paak, I don’t know if I’m ready to be naked in front of everybody,” he began. “I got a 45-year-old dick.”
Thankfully, Anderson .Paak soon revealed that he was completely kidding, revealing it was all part of a radio hoax.
However, Dave Chappelle did let slip that he was keen to collaborate with the musician in the future, though he didn’t clarify if the collaboration would require them both to be fully dressed.
Anderson .Paak’s Oxnard is set to be released this Friday, with the musician also playing a few shows in Australia this January as part of his appearance at the 2018/2019 Falls Festival. Check all the details below!
