Kid Cudi fans are hoping they might be seeing new music on the way soon, with the artist recently teasing something new is on the way.

Although it’s currently been almost two years since Kid Cudi’s last solo album, the hip-hop icon hasn’t exactly been taking things slow in 2018. After releasing a joint album with Kanye West under the name Kids See Ghosts back in June, fans started to speculate that a new record might be on the way.

Back in October, Kid Cudi responded to a fan on Twitter, noting that he’s got a new record planned a for 2019 release, revealing that we might see him feature on some new tracks in the meantime.

“I just started the new album,” he explained. “Taking my time w it tho but im thinkin next year sometime? Would that be cool? Huh? Tell me? Would that be ok?”

“Got some tasty features comin out soon in the meantime.”

Now, Kid Cudi has taken to Twitter yet again to tease fans with the release of… well, something rather mysterious.

Posting a video to Twitter over the weekend, Cudi revealed that something called “the Asterisk Collective” is on the way, urging fans to “stay tuned”.

“This is not the world we want,” Cudi explained in the video. “We’re rewriting the script because these rules don’t apply.”

“We’ll be showing up with real people, in real places, in real ways. To inspire positive change. Bravery, courage, and action, uniting to showcase the power of creativity. Let’s create a better future together. We are the exception to the rule. We are the Asterisk Collective.”

What the Asterisk Collective actually is or plans to do remains to be seen, though it appears that we’ll be receiving more news rather soon.

Fans also noted that prior to this video, Kid Cudi posted another Tweet in which he seemed to inadvertently share the video without it uploading.

Titled “Cudi_VM_StayTuned_120118b.mov”, fans have taken this to mean that the Asterisk Collective is indeed a Kid Cudi record, though whether it’s the one he hinted about back in October remains to be seen.

Until we get an official announcement about this project, we’re bound to remain a little…
