Rivers Cuomo is constantly at the cutting edge of pop culture. Whether it’s tweeting about his identity as an Emo Daddy or repurposing the most “dank” of memes, Cuomo is no stranger to the internet’s depths.

Now, the esteemed Weezer frontman has released a new track, ‘Two Broken Hearts’ with an accompanying video that takes the viewer on a journey through 2018’s most memorable moments.

Cuomo is played by an adorable Bitmoji, in which he travels through the trials and tribulations of a relationship. The video is rounded out with appearances from Tom Cruise, dancing cats and Elon Musk. Check it out below.

Just last week, Weezer’s pop culture permeation was solidified with a Saturday Night Live skit that saw Matt Damon arguing over which era of the band was the best (Pinkerton, clearly).

In November, Weezer announced that the follow up to 2017’s Pacific DaydreamThe Black Album will arrive next year on March 1st. The album marks the band’s twelfth studio album and their fifth self-titled, releasing the track ‘Zombie Bastards’ to give fans a taste of what they can expect from the release.
