Lady Gaga kicked off her 2-year Las Vegas residency with a bang last night, treating the eager crowd to a career spanning set filled with intense theatrics and a few covers of some of rock’s most iconic artists.
The show, titled ‘Enigma’ was promised to be “an experience like no other” that follows a storyline that involves digitally-rendered characters and one gigantic, fire-breathing robot.
Gaga paid homage to her rock roots, with a cover of David Bowie’s 1997 track ‘I’m Afraid of Americans’ that features production and instrumentation from both Brian Eno and Trent Reznor.
She played the track after performing the Born This Way cut ‘Government Hooker’ that also follows a similar critique of social and political norms.

Gaga also took the opportunity to treat fans to the live debut of the smash hit ‘Shallow’ from the A Star Is Born soundtrack. Check it out below.
