British RnB trailblazer Jorja Smith has cancelled three of her scheduled performances at Laneway Festival.

Smith will no longer be performing at Adelaide, Melbourne or Fremantle’s instalment of the festival. On account of her being nominated for a mother freaking Grammy. It’s heartbreaking but like… it’s the Grammy Awards.

Laneway has issued a statement regarding the lineup change:

“Jorja has (deservedly) been nominated for a Grammy Award in the prestigious Best New Artist category and will be attending the awards, which clash with the second weekend of the Laneway Festival’s national run. We wish Jorja all the best at the Grammys and look forward to her scheduled performances in Auckland, Brisbane and Sydney, as well as a new, special headline performance at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Friday 1 February.”

Refunds for Laneway’s Adelaide, Melbourne and Freo events are available until 10 am Wednesday, 16th of January.

It’s not all bad news though. Laneway has announced that Aussie punk legends The Smith Street Band have joined the lineup. They will be performing at all five instalments on the festival tour.
