Debi Martini, bassist and vocalist of legendary Long Beach punk outfit Red Aunts, has passed away.
Martini’s death was “sudden and unexpected” and confirmed on Red Aunts Facebook page.
In the post shared by fellow band members Terri, Kerry and Lesley, Martini was remembered as “Our rock goddess and our anchor and we will always treasure our time together and all that we accomplished.”

Red Aunts formed in 1991. They were a band at the crux of the ’90s Longbeach punk scene. They released five full-length albums before disbanding in 1998. Red Aunts reunited in 2016 to play In the Red Records’ 25th Anniversary.
