Yesterday it was revealed that 2019’s Hottest 100 is going to be the biggest Hottest 100 celebration on record. triple J revealed that they received a record 2,758,584 votes towards this year’s countdown. To celebrate they’ve released some succulent spoilers about this year’s countdown. So for those of you that are thirsty for statistics, strap in.

This years countdown will feature:
- 65 Australian songs
- 21 artists appear to make their debut Hottest 100 for the very first time
- 31 artists who were first heard on triple j Unearthed
- 5 songs which were uploaded to Unearthed in 2018
- 2 artists with back-to-back songs
- 8 artists celebrate a Hottest 100 hat-trick, appearing 3 years in a row
Let the speculating begin!
The triple j Hottest 100 for 2018 will begin counting down on Sunday, January 27th, with the Hottest 200 commencing on the following day. Double J will also be counting down the Hottest 100 of 1998 on Monday.
