Corey Taylor’s hot-headed temperament has been well documented in recent years. Beyond the bone-crushing, face-melting, world-changing sounds Slipknot have been responsible for, the iconic frontman has gone on record to tear Adam Levine to shreds, slam those who use their phones at gigs, and even threaten that the band would release a “dark jazz” album (a fate we’d quite frankly never want to endure.)
Considering this, you’d have to be rather brave to confront the metal monolith over Twitter, asking blatantly to collaborate.
For UK rapper Kid Bookie, tenacity and bluntness has paid off. On January 30th, the young gun tweeted out that Slipknot’s song “Wait and Bleed” is as iconic as System of a Down’s “Chop Suey!”.

Now, it seems as though the two have definitely cross-pollinated their musical juices, with Bookie confirming their collaboration yesterday with, “People of earth and beyond, me and @CoreyTaylorRock have some very VERY special music coming for you soon. That is all, have a good day.”

For those unaware of Kid Bookie, he’s a 26-year-old rapper from South East London who kickstarted his career playing in bands – check out his palpitating, lyrically intense single ‘Who’s Next’. The aggression and quirk clearly present in the track would make the perfect home next to Taylor’s signature growl.

Slipknot are currently working on a follow up to 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter, which was revealed to revolve around the concept of “evil vs. good”.
“It’s about being a human being and experiencing what you have in correlating it to this world,” he explained. “This world is ugly and it’s supposed to be, and it has to be in order for art to lead to grandness and beauty,” said Slipknot’s Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan.
The band released their most recent single, ‘All Out Life’ late last year.
