A bunch of Aussie comedians are coming together to help heal the hurt felt by New Zealand as part of the Stand Up For Christchurch benefit.
Earlier this month, the world was rocked by the abhorrent terror attack that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand. As people around the globe struggle to make sense of this tragedy, many have also donated to charitable causes that will help aid the victims of this incident.
Now, some of Australia’s brightest comedians are set to showcase their talent as part of a massive benefit show in Melbourne next month.
Taking place at the Melbourne Town Hall on April 13th, Stand Up For Christchurch will see some of Australia’s favourite comedians coming together to support the victims and families affected.
Raising money for The Christchurch Foundation’s, ‘Our People, Our City’ fund, the likes of Arj Barker, Urzila Carlson, Joel Creasey, Frida Deguise, Dave Hughes, Nazeem Hussain, Jimeoin, Tommy Little, Luke McGregor, Matt Okine, Celia Pacquola, Cal Wilson, and Steph Tisdell will be getting hitting the stage for a good cause.
“This line up came together miraculously quick,” explained MC and organiser Nazeem Hussain. “Comedians normally take 48 hours to respond to anything. They all texted back within 2 minutes!”
“There’s clearly so much love to give from the comedy community.”
“We’re honoured to be given the opportunity to support Nazeem in producing this very important show, alongside The Melbourne International Comedy Festival,” added Roger Field, Chief Executive Officer for Live Nation Australasia.
“Naz is an inspirational talent who has been able to engage the community to unite for a very special show in support of Christchurch.”
Stand Up For Christchurch is set to take place at the Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday, April 13th. Don’t miss out on a chance to not only support a good cause, but to see some of the finest comedians out there on the same stage.
